My altbeer came out great. I whirlpooled woth Northern Brewer for some added hop flavor and aroma. Everyone loved it. The yeast drops out very clean after a few days.
I pitched this into a light DME starter which went into a summer ale based on the kolsch style. The wort fermented out quickly and appeared to have fully flocculated within a week. I went all the way to a tertiary fermentation to make sure I got all of the sediment out ( there was a lot of hop sediment in the primary). Just kegged the batch today and, although it fermented about 2 points lower than the recipe called for, it tastes clean and light, just as expected. The grist included a couple of pounds of wheat so I didn't expect much clarity and can't speak to just aspect of this yeast. All in all, I would recommend this as a great alternative to the named kolsch yeast or any other Dusseldorf style.
