Join the New England IPA Haze Craze by brewing one of our best recipes! This Imperial version of the newest fad in the homebrewing and craft brewing worlds features bright, tropical flavors and aromas from some of the most exciting hops that we can get our hands on.
Bursts of mango, pineapple, and other tropical citrus flavors are found in a bright, white, creamy head that persists throughout the entire pint, followed by a symphony of tropical, fruity flavors. Truly Imperial at over 8% ABV, this beer has a seemingly sweet profile from the yeast, hops, and malts used that make it quite dangerous! With no caramel malts and over 3 pounds of flaked grains, this beer comes out bright and hazy. If you didn't know better, you would say you were looking at a glass of orange juice!
Due to the amount of hops in this beer, we have calculated this recipe for a 6 gallon batch (in the fermenter), and you should adjust your water needs as necessary. If using RO or distilled water, add 3 g of Gypsum & 8 g of Calcium Chloride Pellets to your mash & 2.5 g of Gypsum & 5.5 g of Calcium Chloride to your sparge water. This will accentuate the "juicy", tropical aromas from the hops and give you a pleasantly soft mouthfeel.
One factor that can help make your beer appear perfectly hazy is something called Biotransformation. This is where dry hops normally added a few days before packaging are added a few days into active fermentation (2-3 days after pitching, or when the Krauzen starts to drop down). The available proteins from the yeast at this early stage of fermentation permanently bind with the polyphenols from the hops. causing a permanent haze.
All orders containing Liquid Yeast will be shipped with a complimentary ice pack to ensure safe shipping!

Excellent service answered all the questions I had both times I called. They also were able to help me change my order when I decided I wanted to add yeast. I have not yet made the tropic haze but I'm excited to let everyone how it comes out .thank you all ,Joe
Great kit, will likely reorder and make again!
When brewing this I suggest starting with with 3 gallons of strike water to accommodate for loss during the boil, i used 2.5 gallons and lost about 1 gallon. the reason that this gets 5 stars is because it came out really good and i was able to drink it within 10 days of brewing.
problems with this kit were... the kit called for 4 pounds of DME addition at 2 different times during the brewing process but came in a 8 pound bag so i had to sit there and measure out 4 pounds, it was not a problem for me but for someone else maybe. also the mesh bags were not big enough to hold specialty grains lucky i had some extra laying around. other than that it was a really easy process tasted delicious super hazy.
I kegged it on 3/1/18 for a snowboarding trip and it was gone by 3/4 needless to say everyone loved it! will definitely brew again after i brew some of the other NEIPA.
