Considered by many to be the Holy Grail of Double IPAs, our version of this favorite is big, bold, and hoppy. Very drinkable, the hops scream out with an intense aroma and flavor that DIPAs are famous for. This beer is a classic favorite, and this clone recipe will satisfy even the most discriminating Pliny lover.
This beer requires a 90 minute boil, so increase the boil volume needed to wind up with 5.5 gallons in the fermenter (for the 5 gallon sized batches). The huge amount of hops added in dryhopping tend to suck up quite a bit of beer, so making the batch size a bit bigger means ending with a full 5 gallon batch. Make sure you make a starter or use two packets of yeast for this bad boy!

I brewed this recipe 10/29/16 and of all the online retailers i searched, homebrewsupply.com comes the closest to the original recipe. I used WLP060 American Ale Blend which I did a yeast starter for. Withing 12 hours there was alot of activity and bubbling. It is emitting an amazing hop scented blast! The ingredients were fresh and I should have a winner on my hands. I'll update the review after bottling and tasting.
