Literally translated as “Father's Beer”, Patersbier is not commonly available to beer lovers outside of a monastery. Patersbier is an 'enkel' (meaning 'single' in Dutch) and was made inside the monastery for the monks themselves, and not to sell. This style likely resulted from the monks re-using some their mash for a lower gravity beer (called partigyle brewing) to use as their own session beer. We like to think of is as a lawnmower beer, monastery style. You don't have to worry about tracking down a patersbier- you can brew your own! 

Our version is crisp, dry, and full of the spicy, fruity flavors that you know and love in a traditional Trappist ale. It's dark gold/pale amber in color with a bit of spice from the hops and fruity aromas and flavors from the yeast. This makes a full flavored session beer that everyone can enjoy all day long!
