One of the most well known names in the craft brewing world, Lagunitas Brewing Company’s IPA has been many-a-brewer’s first taste of an IPA. Sometimes known as a “gateway” beer to the vast and hoppy world of the American favorite style, this brew has a long history in the craft beer industry, and now you can brew it yourself!
With a firm malty backbone and a flavor profile rich in caramel tones that offsets the heavy hop bitterness, this Petaluma, California-based brew is a smooth, drinkable ale that you can enjoy all year long. A classic combination of Centennial and Cascade aroma hops gives this beer a distinct citrus profile that many associate with their favorite IPAs.
The addition of Munich malt in this IPA provides more character to the beer, rather than just the classic caramel vs. hops battle that we see overplayed in many hastily made IPAs. The addition of the Munich malt creates Melanoidins, which give the beer a wonderful bready, biscuit-like character. Utilizing these compounds with either Munich malt or Vienna Malt is a great way to give your IPAs a whole new quality and uniqueness.

Style Profile The India Pale Ale style (commonly referred to as "IPA") find their origins in the 18th century and were a practical solution to a major problem the sailors transporting the beers to India were experiencing. During their long voyage around the Cape of Good Hope to India, the beers would have a flat and sour taste. In a time before refrigeration, to combat this problem, they begin increasing the alcoholic content and used larger hop additions which would help their precious cargo survive the voyage.

Grain bill came pre-milled as requested. The multiple hops packages were shrink wrapped. The yeast came bubble wrapped with an ice pack. I couldn’t ask for more.
This clone is very good. Came complete with directions for all styles of all.grain brewing. I live in rural Oregon and ordered this inbthe internet, when it arrived, the yeast was still cold. The ONLY issue I had was ordering this kit. Took about a week and a half because they couldn't get the hops in. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied and will use them again.
