Kölsch hails from the region of Cologne (Köln), Germany, and was their response to the rise of the ever popular British Pale Ale. Kölsch beers go through a warmer fermentation, followed up with cold temperature lagering. Known for it's bright yellow hue, which is very similar in color to a German Pale Lager, and for being made usually with just one type of pilsner malt.
