FermCap is a unique emulsion of dimethylpolysiloxane. It's a very effective anti-foaming surface agent, that reduces surface tension. Reduced foam gives you increased fermentation capacity and prevents a mess, and improves your alpha-acid utilization and CO2 recovery. Also fights haziness that's a product of collapsed foam. It completely absorbs into the yeast and vessel and other filters. No Fermcap will remain once your beer is finished. Store below 85F, and do not freeze.
- Shake vigorously before using
- Mix 2-3 drops per gallon into your wort while transferring to fermentation vessel
- If added before pitching your yeast, add carefully to avoid mixing with the yeast
- Use in larger amounts of trub if the wort is highly viscious, your vessel is tall and narrow, or if fermentation temps are high
