This hefeweizen recipe was made famous in Bavaria for its emphasis on wheat. This beer hits all the marks for summer drinking and is ready to drink quickly. It's a pale, fruity, and refreshing beer that is loved year around by hella cool aficionados the world over.
Using a specialty yeast strain in the production of authentic wheat beers, this beer has the banana and clove nose traditionally associated with German wheat beers along with the bready malt flavor from the wheat. Due to the yeast strain and the wheat in the recipe, this beer maintains the desired cloudy look of traditional weizen beers.
Brewing this beer ensures your street cred. It’s one thing to be a cool kid, it’s another to be the hella cool kid.

Any time I trying a new recipe, I get nervous. This was my first time brewing a Hefeweizen, and I was NOT disappointed.
Easy-to-follow directions and fresh grains. I used the Wyeast 3068. The finished beer is light and crisp, with a pleasant banana undertone.
This kit will definitely be added to my regular rotation!
I am not a fan of Hefeweizens but bought this recipe to give as a gift after bottling. Of course I had to save a few for QA purposes. After conditioning in bottle I put one in the fridge to try, I must say this is by far the best Hefe I have had. I would make this one again for my self. It has strong banana notes that I have not noticed in others I have tried.
