Imperial's Dieter strain is a clean and crisp fermenting traditional Kolsch strain. It has a very low ester profile making it a great choice for Kolsch beers and other light colored delicate beer. It has better flocculation than most Kolsch strains which helps produce clean bright beer in a shorter amount of time.
- Attenuation: 73-77%
- Flocculation: Medium
- Optimum Fermentation Temp: 60-69F (16-20C)
I recommend Imperial Yeast to any homebrewer. 200B cells of healthy yeast vs. 100B from other brands, which makes it less expensive per cell count. Excellent product with no issues with starters or fermentations. Homebrew Supply always has excellent service, super fast shipping, and ice pack included by default. The Dieter Kolsch yeast will be clean at low end of temp range, or produce more flavor/aroma at higher end of temp range.
Brewed a nice kolsch (og 1.048; fg 1.010) at 60F and dropped nearly clear after 2 weeks in primary. Good clean flavor.
