Dunkelweizen means “dark wheat” and is a darker version of the beloved hefeweizen. This beer is a moderately dark, spicy, fruity, malty, refreshing wheat-based ale. Munich malt and wheat malt combine to give the best of both worlds- a rich malty wheat beer with the fruity esters and clove-like phenols that hefeweizen is famous for. Bottles with yeast are traditionally swirled or gently rolled prior to serving. Since this beer is 50% wheat, using rice hulls is recommended.
All orders containing Liquid Yeast will be shipped with a complimentary ice pack to ensure safe shipping!

The Dunkelweizen is an unfiltered wheat beer style from Germany with sweet malty flavor, darker color than it's Hefeweizen sister, and a low bitterness hop profile, which helps with balancing out the beer's sweet malty flavor.
