An original take on a melding of East Coast/West Coast IPAs, this IPA has a strong citrus aroma with notes of grapefruit, mandarin orange, and tangerine. With a moderately firm bitterness, this IPA is hoppy with a dry finish that makes it very drinkable. The hops dominate with a strong hops punch, and at almost 7% the alcohol is well hidden in the smoothness of this beer. This is your new favorite summer time (or any time) beer!
The last hop addition is a whirlpool addition. Add the hops to the hot wort after the flame goes out, chill to 170-180ºF if possible, and hold (steep) the hops for 20 minutes, ideally in the 180ºF degree range, then thoroughly chill the wort as usual.
