Deep, dark, and rich with a full body and a hint of sweetness reminiscent of lightly sweetened espresso, this chocolate stout is a beer for all. It can serve as a dessert beer, but it's not so sweet that it is only for dessert! With a moderate alcohol level, this beer can be a go-to beer for any occasion. The creamy chocolate flavor will be a big hit for your friends and family, or you can save it for yourself. We won't tell. This recipe has some flexibility- you can add unsweetened cocoa powder (the kind for baking) to the boil, or cocoa nibs to the secondary. Both yield desirable results. Or, for a Double Chocolate Stout, with intense chocolate flavor and aroma, use both! We include the Cacao Nibs, but we DO NOT supply the Cacao Powder.
All orders containing Liquid Yeast will be shipped with a complimentary ice pack to ensure safe shipping!

Chocolate Stout - All-Grain Recipe Kit Instructions
Milk Stouts are a thick bodied style that contains lactose (milk sugar), which adds to the body and sweetness of the beer. Adding fresh cocoa nibs (or even unsweetened cocoa powder) into the secondary fermenter turns a milk stout into a sweet treat- a dessert beer of sorts. We include the Cacao Nibs, but we DO NOT supply the Cacao Powder.
