Home brew fermenting carboys and beer jugs are perfect vessels to let those yeast do their fermenting or age beer/wine. Homebrew Supply has both glass and plastic beer/wine carboys, as well as various sizes; 1, 3, 5, 6 and 6.5 gallons. 6.5 Gallon fermenters are perfect for 5 gallon batches of beer and wine during the primary stage of brewing. Added head room allows for space for the krausen and prevent some blow-off. 5 gallon fermenters are more often used for smaller batches of beer/wine and secondary conditioning by reducing oxidation. Our glass carboys are thick, quality carboys that won't scratch easily while our plastic carboys are polyethylene terephthalate copolymer (PET), which won't leech, stain or trap odors.
Glass vs. plastic? We have them both and use both as homebrewers but if you are unsure which one you want read our Guide to Glass vs. Plastic Carboys.
Make sure to check out our carboy accessories as well to spruce up the carboy and don't forget homebrew airlocks and carboy bungs & stoppers.
