Watch out, boys and girls; here comes the big one.
Hailing to us from Stone Brewing Company in California, this American Strong Ale lives up to their standard of brewing “angry beers.”
Big, bold, and brash, this clone is as close as you can get to the real Arrogant Bastard without buying it in a bottle. It’s a well-known fact that Arrogant Bastard is a single-hop bad boy that gets it’s signature hop kick from Chinook. What we love about this clone is that each addition of Chinook (1 oz each at 60 min, 30 min, 15 min, and flame out) takes on an entirely different profile from the rest. If the cornucopia of hop flavor isn’t enough for you, the malty backbone with a reddish hue is certain to treat your eyes as well as your tongue.
Due to the high gravity and clean flavors of this beer, we recommend purchasing two packages of yeast or make a yeast starter. Aerate the cooled wort thoroughly, to ensure a healthy fermentation.
All orders containing Liquid Yeast will be shipped with a complimentary ice pack to ensure safe shipping!

After some issues with directions and hops packaging that were discussed with Joe in CS, all is good. Beer is happily bubbling away.
I have purchased this kit before and brewed it with very close results compared with the original. This kit has the same forward bite with a sweeter finish. Friends have compared both side by side and have liked the taste of the clone better, but the color was darker. As for delivery HB falls short, I have had a problem with ingredients shipped or shipping on its own.
I love AB and this one definitely delivers. It has a tad sweeter mouth feel and doesn't have the forward bite that AB has. Doing a second fermentation cleared up the brew greatly. I might add a depth charge of dry hops next time during the second fermentation to help bring up the bittering.
With that said, this kit is VERY tasty and I will brew this one many more times.
This is a fast turnaround beer. I added about half of a pound of sugar to this kit. It turned out great. I wanted to raise the alcohol level in it. I will do this one again.
Great recipe very close to the original. Great company fast service.
