Our American Brown Ale has all the chocolate, caramel, and toasty notes you’re looking for in a beer with Magnum, Northern Brewer, and Cascade hops in the forefront making this a subtle yet complex beer.
Denny's Favorite 50 (Wyeast 1450) is a great yeast strain for this beer as it enhances the malt while letting the hops shine, but White Labs WLP001 and S05 would also be excellent yeast in this recipe as well.
Bald Eagles, Elvis Presley, and Coca Cola, this beer is America. You will be back for this one.
All orders containing Liquid Yeast will be shipped with a complimentary ice pack to ensure safe shipping!
The American Brown Ale finds it's roots in 1980s America and was the country's answer to the English Brown Ale. Typically, the American version will have a higher alcohol content, and "hoppier" taste. A medium bodied brew, brown in color, that's a bit more bitter and dry than it's English counterpart.

didn't get expected color but it was a decent base for my Gingerbread house brown ale
Perfection in the Grainfather. Super easy recipe and the fermentation went really well. Bottling this Saturday. Must have for the intermediate brewer!
I’ve made two orders through Homebrew and both were easy as pie. Order received in good time everything was in good shape.
They offer many different options, recipes and such. Would recommend for any home brewer looking for something online to replace the dwindling number of homebrew shops.
This was the first recipe I brewed (in partial mash form), and I’ve been brewing the all grain version ever since. I add 1lb of roasted and dries pecans during the mash, 2oz of honey malt, and 1lb of fresh honey at flameout to give it a little kick in the pants.
